In this work, we focused on improving the corrosion resistance and mechanical performance of AZ31 magnesium alloys by applying soft-sparking electrochemical oxidation (ECO) coatings — a promising strategy for future biodegradable implant applications.
This is the first time ECO coatings have been evaluated in such detail on complex geometries, combining electrochemical analysis with bending, screw insertion, and scratch testing to simulate real-world biomedical conditions.
